Community rules
GuideMeet exists to plan real trips with real people. These rules keep the inbox useful and the profiles honest. They apply to everyone, travelers and guides, and they are part of our Terms.
In messages and requests
·
Talk about trips: routes, dates, vehicles, prices, what is included. That is what the inbox is for.
·
Be honest about who you are, what you drive and what you can do.
·
One request per trip is enough. Do not send the same message to every guide in a country.
·
No promotion of other platforms, no recruiting, no selling things unrelated to the trip.
·
No insults, threats, discrimination or sexual content. One report is enough.
·
Never ask for passwords, card numbers or copies of identity documents in a chat.
Moving to WhatsApp or the phone
You can exchange numbers and carry on elsewhere. Most trips are organised that way.
Before you do, put the essentials in the GuideMeet inbox: price, dates, what is included. If something goes wrong later, that is the only record we can look at. We cannot help with what happened on another app.
Profiles and trips
·
A profile represents one real person or one real business.
·
A trip is a real plan with real dates, even approximate. Do not publish trips to fish for contacts.
·
Photos are yours or used with permission. People who can be recognised have agreed to appear.
·
Do not copy texts or photos from other profiles, on GuideMeet or anywhere else.
Reviews
·
A review describes a trip that took place, written by someone who was on it.
·
No reviews for friends, no reviews in exchange for a discount, no reviews of yourself.
·
A negative review is not removed because the guide disagrees with it. It is removed if it is fake, abusive or about someone else.
Your privacy and other people's
·
Do not publish other people's phone numbers, itineraries, documents or photos without permission.
·
What you learn about a traveler in the inbox stays there. Do not pass it to other guides or operators.
·
Guides: keep only what you need after the trip and delete the rest.
What we do about it
Depending on what happened: a warning, content removed, messaging limited, the profile hidden, the account removed. Serious cases are handled without prior notice.
We keep the records the law requires us to keep, and we cooperate with the authorities when the law requires it.
Reporting someone to damage them, or reporting the same thing over and over, is itself a violation.
