GuideMeet is a global marketplace designed for overlanding and adventure travel. It connects independent local guides with travelers who want to explore remote places without going through traditional agencies.
At its core, GuideMeet solves a simple problem: finding the right local guide in remote destinations is hard. Most of them are invisible online, reachable only through word of mouth, scattered Facebook groups, or intermediaries.
GuideMeet makes them discoverable, accessible, and directly connectable.
Our Mission
Our mission is to unlock access to real, local adventure travel worldwide. We aim to connect thousands of local guides — often excluded from global tourism flows — with travelers who are actively seeking authentic, off-the-grid experiences.

GuideMeet is not a travel agency. It does not package, sell, or intermediate trips. Instead, it provides a platform for direct connection between travelers and guides.

How It Works
GuideMeet combines two core layers: Guide Marketplace + Expedition Layer.
1. Find Local Guides
Travelers can search and explore guides based on destination, vehicle type, languages, and availability. Each guide has a public, shareable profile with areas of operation, experience and services, reviews and ratings, and contact channels.
2. Explore or Create Trips
Users can browse existing expeditions, request to join a trip, or create their own travel plan. A travel plan is a structured expedition proposal used to form a group, define basic parameters, and attract guides and participants.
3. Connect Guides and Travelers
Once a trip exists, travelers can request to join, guides can propose their services, and the trip creator selects the guide. Conditions are defined directly between participants — coordination often happens via chat or external tools.
4. Build Groups
GuideMeet enables solo travelers to find companions, incomplete groups to fill missing spots, and passengers to join vehicles. The goal is simple: make expeditions happen, even when starting from zero.
5. Reviews and Reputation
After each trip, participants can review the guide. Ratings build reputation over time, creating a transparent, experience-driven trust system.
6. Licence Check
In countries where the licensing authority publishes an official register, a guide can add their licence number and we look it up automatically. If the register lists a licence with that number under the same name, the profile shows a green "Licence verified" badge, checked again every month. It confirms the licence exists in the official register; it does not verify the guide's identity or the quality of the service.

www.guidemeet.it is our only official website, and our apps are published by Guidemeet LLC on the App Store and Google Play. GuideMeet is not affiliated with guidemeet.com, and has never authorized any other company to use the GuideMeet name.
Is GuideMeet the same as guidemeet.com?
No. GuideMeet started in 2021 on www.guidemeet.it and is run by GuideMeet LLC: that's our only website, along with our apps on the App Store and Google Play. guidemeet.com is a different service that came along years later, and we have no connection with it. Clearly it's a name people like 😉 But if you're looking for a local guide for an overland trip by 4x4, motorcycle, camper or bicycle, you're in the right place.
