A 4-day, 3-night walking trek through the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara, starting and ending in M’Hamid. You walk with a local camel man and guide, and a cook. The camels carry all the equipment, so you only carry a day pack.
Day 1 – M’Hamid › Sidi Naji › Bousnina: Meet your trek team, then walk into the desert towards the Bousnina dunes. Picnic lunch on the way, and the first night camping among the dunes.
Day 2 – Bousnina › Erg Ezzahar: Early start towards Erg Ezzahar, the “howling dune.” Tea ceremony at sunset on the dune, tajine under the stars, and a night in a tent or out under the sky.
Day 3 – Erg Ezzahar › Erg Ait Ounir: The trek continues deeper into the Sahara. Picnic lunch, then the team sets up camp and prepares dinner.
Day 4 – Erg Ait Ounir › Rass Nkhill › M’Hamid: Walk back to M’Hamid for a well-earned shower, then dinner and a night at the camp. After breakfast the next morning, transfer to M’Hamid centre.
Included: 2 nights at the camp in comfort (first and last night), full board in the desert, mineral water and tea, a team of camel man/guide and cook, camels for all logistics, and the loan of trekking equipment (mattresses, tents, blankets, kitchen). Not included: tips and insurance.
