Native Ladakhi rider, based in Leh. I run Ladakh Bikers, the touring arm of Aryan Ladakh Tour & Travel - government registered, working out of the same workshop on Karzu Road since 2015.

I grew up on these passes rather than arriving for the season. The motorcycles are ours: Royal Enfield Himalayan 450s and 411s, Classic 350s and 500s, all on LA-02 commercial plates, which the internal Ladakh circuits legally require. Our own workshop, our own mechanic riding with the group, our own permit desk at the Leh magistrate's office.

Where I guide: Ladakh, Zanskar, Spiti and Kashmir. You can start at Leh, Srinagar or Manali and finish at any of the three, so the route does not have to double back. Zanskar is the ground I know best - Shinku La at 5,054 m unpaved, Pensi La onto the Drang-Drung glacier, Padum, Phugtal, and around 200 km with no fuel between Darcha and Padum.

Two things I will always tell you straight: which roads your passport can legally ride, in writing before you pay anything, and when a pass is not worth it that week. The season runs April to November. Nothing moves outside it.

Happy to answer questions about the region even if you are riding independently and not hiring anyone.
