11 days and about 3,000 km through the full Patagonian spectrum: volcanoes and Valdivian rainforest, the Andean lakes, the open steppe of Ruta 40, the Southern Ice Field and the granite towers of Torres del Paine.
We start in Puerto Varas under the Osorno volcano, cross the Andes to Bariloche, and follow Ruta 40 through Los Alerces National Park. In Trevelin and Esquel we spend a day off the bike in the valley settled by the Welsh in 1885, with old chapels, tea houses and a community that still sings in Welsh. From there it's the big steppe: Lago Buenos Aires, the Cueva de las Manos, a night on a working sheep estancia, Perito Moreno Glacier with a mini-trek on the ice, and two days inside Torres del Paine before finishing at the Strait of Magellan.
Route designed and guided by Crhistian Austin, born in Esquel and a descendant of the 1865 Mimosa settlers.
INCLUDED: BMW F 750 GS rental (other models on request), support van, 11 nights in 4★ hotels, lodges and estancias, park and museum fees, Perito Moreno mini-trek, welcome and farewell dinners. NOT INCLUDED: flights, fuel, other meals, personal insurance, single supplement.
Mostly paved, about 20% gravel. Price on request.
