For more than 30 years, my life has revolved around roads, motorcycles, travel, adventure, and the Himalayas. My journey began when I was just 17 years old, when I started riding motorcycle. What began as a personal passion gradually became a lifelong profession and gave me an intimate understanding of India’s roads, landscapes, cultures, people, and some of its most remote Himalayan regions. I entered the travel industry in 1996, taking on different roles in trekking, adventure travel, and guiding. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with international travellers as well as educational groups. I am also associated with Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, as a Walkabout India Guide for their international educational travel programmes. Leading students through India allowed me to share not only the country's natural beauty, but also its cultural, historical, and social heritage.

Motorcycles, however, have always remained at the heart of my journey.

My passion for riding eventually led me to establish Ladakh Moto Tours, turning my years of experience on Himalayan roads into professionally guided motorcycle adventures. Since 2007, my team and I have been developing and operating motorcycle tours across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. What started as a passion for exploring the mountains on two wheels has grown into a specialised motorcycle touring company focused on small-group Himalayan adventures.

Today, I am the Owner, Road Captain, and Route Architect of Ladakh Moto Tours. I remain directly involved in designing our routes, leading expeditions, coordinating logistics, and making sure that every journey is conducted with a strong emphasis on safety, authenticity, and responsible travel.

Over the years, I have personally led more than 100 motorcycle tours and travelled hundreds of thousands of kilometres. Every kilometre has taught me something—about the mountains, the roads, changing weather conditions, motorcycles, local communities, and, perhaps most importantly, about the people who travel with us.

For me, Himalayan motorcycle touring is about much more than simply following a road from one destination to another. The Himalayas are constantly changing. A route can take you through high-altitude passes, remote valleys, traditional villages, ancient monasteries, historic sites, and landscapes that can change dramatically within a few hours. Understanding these environments comes from years of experience, observation, and being out there on the road.

My experience across India, Nepal, and Bhutan has allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for the different cultures, traditions, terrain, weather patterns, and logistical challenges of each region. I try to use that knowledge to create journeys that are adventurous while remaining carefully planned and well supported.

One of the things I value most about Ladakh Moto Tours is our small-group philosophy. We generally keep our groups to around 6–10 riders. I believe smaller groups allow us to pay closer attention to each rider, the motorcycles, safety, logistics, and the overall experience. It also allows us to travel more naturally through the communities and landscapes we visit rather than feeling like a large commercial convoy.

After three decades in tourism and a lifetime of riding, I still feel the same excitement when I set out on a motorcycle into the mountains. Every journey is different, and there is always another road to discover, another valley to explore, and another story to bring home.

I see my role not simply as a tour operator or motorcycle guide, but as someone who connects riders with the places I have spent much of my life exploring. I want our guests to experience the Himalayas beyond the usual tourist routes—to meet local people, experience different cultures, understand the history of the regions we travel through, and enjoy the freedom and challenge of riding in some of the world's most spectacular mountain environments.

Ladakh Moto Tours is registered with the Himachal Pradesh State Tourism Department and the Ladakh Union Territory Tourism Department.

For me, motorcycle touring has never been simply about covering kilometres. It is about the freedom of the open road, the challenge of the mountains, the sound and feel of a motorcycle beneath you, the discovery of unfamiliar cultures, and the friendships created along the way.

Most of all, it is about creating journeys that stay with people long after they have returned home.

That is what I have been fortunate enough to do for more than three decades—and it is what continues to drive me every time I start my motorcycle and head towards the mountains.
